This collection is grouped by CdLS area (topic) and neatly indexed so you can search and learn. Take what you've read to your local doctor, teacher or care-taker.

No question is too big or small to ask
If you subscribe to cdlsworld.org you get te ability to ask questions too. So if you can't find an answer to your question and not yet subscribed to our website you are hereby heartily invited!

Search options
The Ask the Expert application uses the SOLR search platform of Apache, which has a great number of built-in search options. A few of them are:

  • wildcard search - use a '?' for a single wildcard and a '*' for multiple.
  • fuzzy search - use a '~' to perform a approximate search for a certain word or words. For example a search for 'wool~' also returns 'wood' and 'cool'.
  • weighed search - use a '^', combined with a number to put more emphasis on a certain word in your search. For example a search for 'wool^4 is a kind of fabric' results in a list where 'wool' is considered to be of more importance.

You can find out more information about the possibilities of the built-in search options of SOLR by visiting their website.
