Due to limited communicative abilities, individuals with CdLS may be unable to report pain and it may be difficult to identify the cause. 

Pain in CdLS can lead to substantial behavioural difficulties.

As pain can easily remain unrecognised in a child with CdLS, all care providers should be aware of the different manifestations and the possible sources of pain.
